Ok so the first trailer for Halloween Ends has just dropped and there's actually a major clue in it as to what could be going on with the film.

In it we open with a POV of what could be Michael Myers. This is similar to how the first movie opened and we get even more callbacks to that when he slowly opens the door upstairs. Here we can see Laurie Strode and she's even wearing the exact same clothes that she had on in the very first movie.

However this might not actually be Michael. If you look at his hand you can see all of his fingers are there. Cut to the end of the trailer when Laurie stabs Michael through the hand. We can see that his fingers are missing and this happened to him all the way back in Kills. Therefore I think that this Michael we see early on is a copycat because he still has all his fingers.
