PLEASE READ: (lyrics below)- This video is heavily inspired by my phanphic Come to Me and dedicated to all my readers (since I know a number of you watch my vids too). Funny thing- I had planned this song for one of my vampire fandoms, but every time I thought about the lyrics- snippets of the Phantom came to mind, inspiring me with ideas. lol...I wish to give credit to Sarah (longbourne2) who first used the glowing red mask in her vids long ago, and I loved it and felt inspired to try it for this...spotlighting my top favorite 3 Phantoms -- Gerard Butler, Ramin Karimloo, and Earl Carpenter (clips are from 2004 movie, the 25th stage show, and the Phantom reboot - also previews and other performances with Ramin). Love Never Dies really didn't fit lyrics, so I decided to make this strictly Phantom of the Opera only. Vid story follows lyrics- Christine is faced with the shocking truth that the man she loves, her Angel, is a dark Angel and the murderer of many. She wishes it all away as a dream but finally comes to accept the nightmare of the truth. In knowing his secrets and keeping them, she feels just as guilty as if she shares in the Phantom's crimes by her silence (the red glows that sometimes shows on her as well as on Erik depicts that). Yet she does not wish harm to come to him, so remains silent, and tries to get through to him, telling him that his lifetime of pain does not justify his actions in his self-made role of executioner. Erik in turn, grows jealous by her withdrawal, not aware of her inner struggle - sure Raoul is to blame, as well as his scarred face always being the underlying poison to her love - but she proves to him that it is not what he thinks, no longer fearing him (or rather what he has done and the person he becomes while doing it). She is resigned to accept Erik for the good and the evil, not wishing to live without him and hoping to free him from his own fear and the past chains of death (his defensive mindset of kill or be killed), by giving him her unconditional love, which despite everything, has never altered...symbolism: Red glows- death/murder...Blue tones, and B & W with red- dying, death, fear...white glows -- life/love...red spiral: hypnotic, a seemingly endless chain of fear, death, and destruction. There is more, but I'll let the viewer decide the rest. :) Am running out of room. clip credit to MusicalTrader for the Phantom U.K. reboot play
Lyrics to "Bleed (I Must Be Dreaming)" performed by Evanescence
How can I pretend that I don't see
What you hide so carelessly?
I saw her bleed
You heard me breathe
And I froze inside myself
And turned away
I must be dreaming
We all live
We all die
That does not begin to justify you
It's not what it seems
Not what you think
No, I must be dreaming
It's only in my mind
Not in real life
No, I must be dreaming
Help you know I've got to tell someone
Tell them what I know you've done
I fear you but spoken fears can come true
We all live
We all die
That does not begin to justify you
It's not what it seems
Not what you think
No, I must be dreaming
It's only in my mind
Not in real life
No, I must be dreaming
We all live and
We all die but
That does not begin to justify you
It's not what it seems
Not what you think
No, I must be dreaming
It's only in my mind
Not in real life
No, I must be dreaming
Not what it seems
Not what you think
I must be dreaming
Just in my mind
Not in real life
I must be dreaming
