here's my scathing review on the sephora page! I tried the eyeshadow a few more times and hate it no matter what I do with it :) going to use it for 1 week max to figure out my thoughts, and to collect footage for a better review but so far, a total disappointment.
firstly, this was a gift from my mother. I'd never buy this full price, nor would I call it revolutionary. I think that's besides the point: once you purchase this palette, you want it to perform well and to be nicely formulated.
the swatches are beautiful and the shadows look creamy, pigmented, and dimensional. even the sheer ones seem to have the appearance of being elegant. however, on the eyes, that's just not the case.
the metallic shadows are all crumbly and flake off. even with a primer or gripping concealer (tried both), they do not adhere to the eye. lest you try to blend the edges! then the whole thing just flakes off and theres no pigment left. the colors don't layer well on one another; you can't lay down a wash of a matte and then layer a shimmer on top. wet, dry, finger, brush- they are all sucky. the colors also fade extremely quickly even if you just put down one color. you could put color in one part of the skin and then 20 minutes later its all but faded.
the biggest problem for me actually isn't performance; my eyeshadow palette itself is defective. the inner plate lifts up every time I open the component, even if it has been fully inset last time I finished. I'll push the little eyeshadow insert all the way in (its friction fit; no clicking mechanism or locking or magnet) and then when I open it again to use it the next time, the eyeshadow palette is halfway to falling out.
poor design, poor execution. overall, a total waste of money. it's a shame because the entire component is stunning and heavy and jaw dropping. but overall, wouldn't recommend at all.
