Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams and associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe provided an update Tuesday on the latest COVID-19 cases in the province.
Dr. Yaffe reported that the number of new cases remained under 400 over the long weekend with 391 on Saturday, 340 on Sunday and 304 on Monday. She said there were 427 new cases on Tuesday.
She also said there have been 15 deaths since their last report bringing the total who have died from the novel coronavirus in the province to 1,919.
17,898 people have recovered from the virus to date, from a total of 23,384 confirmed cases. There are 987 patients in hospital, while 167 remain in intensive care units.
