TL;DR - The 5800X3D edges the 12900K in performance in this comparison. It demolishes the 12900K in terms of ease of use, efficiency, and price. My choice is the 5800X3D.

The 12900K has E Cores disabled and is overclocked to 5.2GHz. The RAM is running at 5200MHz CL38. Ring clock is at 4.8GHz.

The 5800X3D was running a -30 all core undervolt through PBO2 Tuner.

I used an AMD Powercolor Red Devil Radeon RX 6950 XT 16GB for both machines. Resizable BAR/SAM and Rage mode was enabled on both tests.
