I got a vintage ladies Raleigh and this video shows the repair of a vintage dynamo on the front wheel. This is my first time fixing one of these dynamos. It is not complicated but it has it's quirks. I hope you the viewer is helped when restoring these relics. We do it for the love of bikes.
My hub was seizing so I took apart the magnet and coil. Do not take them apart if it is not needed as it looses power in the magnet. It needs a keeper ring that is not available. I'm having difficulty understanding how the magnet looses magnetism. I will have to test this later and look up what a keeper ring is and does.
I have made a second video because the dynamo was rubbing and it needed to be corrected.
