Its that time of the year again. Time to spend some money that I shouldn't spend. I've always wanted to build an all-out drag car and finally pulled the trigger. Total impulse buy. I woke up one morning and found a mint condition 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 on marketplace. Within a couple hours I was already driving it home.
The car was built in Arizona to be a street/strip hotrod (heavy on the strip) so it looked like a great option. Years of work already done for me and feels like this is an amazing platform to start with. Car already has a trick 350 Chevy V8 with all kinds of cool race parts already installed, full manual valve body TH350 transmission, 3 73 geared Posi chevy 8.5 ten bolt. My plan is to build myself a little 11 second drag car to take on all of the drag and drive events like Hot Rod Drag Week, Sick week, Rocky Mountain Race Week, Zip Tie Drags, Roadkill nights etc.
Today I'm going typo find out what kind of baseline quarter mile times a mint Z28 off of marketplace gets at the drag strip. Got to start somewhere.
Follow along on our journey to building an 11 second race car!
