Recorded in November 2022, this is Justine's inspiring story of courage and positivity in the face of a devastating cancer diagnosis.
At the peak of physical fitness as a pilates and dance instructor, Justine was struck with highly aggressive stage four bowel cancer and told she had just 18 months to live.
When she received her diagnosis of stage four bowel-cancer, her doctor's hopes weren't high for Justine's survival.
But Justine is the epitome of determination, strength and positivity.
Existing immunotherapy was ruled out for her cancer. Her only chance of survival rested with the horrendous rigors of chemotherapy.
Justine is now cancer-free but she knows her long term survival may rely on medical research. That’s why she’s given a blood sample to be tested by Associate Professor Michelle Wykes’ research team and why she encourages donations to support this amazing research.
Footnote
February 2024
Tragically in January 2024, Justine lost her battle with cancer, but her determination, positivity and courage shone through to the end. The spotlight she has shone on her own battle is helping to support the research that, one day, will prevent people dying from this disease.
We pay tribute to her courage and we honour her memory.
