cell membrane (plasma membrane) it is thin and semi permeable that surrounded by cytoplasm of the cell. it's function is to protect the integrity of interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell while keeping other substances out.

It also serve as base of attachment for the cytoskeleton in some organism and the cell wall in other .thus the cell membrane also serve to help support the cell and hel maintain its shape
Another function of cell membrane is regulate the cell growth through the balance endocytosis and exocytosis .In endocytosis
lipid and protein are remove from cell as a substance are internalized In exocytosis, vesicles contaning lipid and protein are fused with the cell membrane increasing the cell size. Animal cell ,fungul cell , prokaryotic cell, plant cell have plasma membrane .all internal organiles including lysosomes,vaculue,nucleus SER ,RER are enclosed cell membrane. they play important role for in and out the food in a cell.
