Samba Basic Vol. 1 is intended as an introduction to the traditional samba rhythms and instrument when played in a small percussion ensemble or in musical bands.
All patterns are written in 2/4, which is the common method for charting the samba. When counting patterns use a four beat count that will help define the “Rhythm Cycle” of the pattern. The “Rhythm Cycle” is the length of the pattern in the four beat count. This will help you develop the Feel of the “Rhythm Cycle” and memorize the patterns.
