US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken says Washington will do things differently when helping Africa build infrastructure. He delivered a policy speech in Abuja, Nigeria, saying too often, international infrastructure deals are concluded secretly, and are forced upon African nations.

Blinken says the US involvement in Africa is not about China, but about improving infrastructure without countries becoming burdened by debt.
