I first created a basic skeleton for each character in order to get the movement, then drawn a basic character and finally a raw background concept for each cycle test.
1.- Walking Cycle : on 2s. Tried adding a thick borderline for the vector version.
2.- Walking Cycle : on 1s. Tested the OpenToonz in-betweening feature, which worked nicely but proved a little difficult to set up, for it tends to remove vector-control points and that changes the shape along the way.
3.- Running Cycle : on 2s.
4.- Running Cycle : on 2s. Tested some directional blur fx to the movement. The borderline is thinner and full black.
5.- Walking Cycle : on 1s and 2s. No fx.
