Best Part: 1:37 to 2:31 - Score: 8.6/10
The Crown is a band I follow since the release of "Deathrace King" in 2000. They play Melodic Death Metal with Death'n Roll and Thrash moments and they are Swedish. They had several line up change over the years but my favorite one is on this album. Vocalist Johan Lindstrand was on every album except "Crowned in Terror" in 2002 and he has a recognizable voice, I like him. This album is a highlight for me and an underrated piece of art.
The quality of the drumming is outstanding and very varied, it adds a lot to the rhythm section. Talking riffs, listen to the track I review here, the opener "Deathexplosion". A powerful speedy track with great fast picking riffs reminding me Slayer for sure. The melodies are dark and catchy, this is badass The guitar solo starting smoothly behind the vocals during the second chorus is absolutely nasty, as soon as Johan stops singing, the real deal begins with a blistering melodic solo, its very well executed.
This album has something special, the kind of melodies, the guitar riffs that makes you want to run and bang your head hard, that's the Death 'n' Roll effect, swinging riffs.
