This is a clip taken from a documentary about Aga Khan and Ismailies. Have a look at the assorted views of other mainstream sects of Islam about Shia Imami Ismaili branch.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf (A Sunni Imam of Masjid Al Farah, NYC):
Islam is fundamentally pluralistic. Islam emphasizes on oneness of God and the Quran is quiet specific that ALLAH (SWT) created humankind in different colours, different tribes, different ethnicities, as a part of the divine plan and therefore Islam celebrates the pluralism of human societies, human languages etc. So whoever believes in the oneness of ALLAH (SWT), who believes in the message of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH) and follow the sunnah of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH) or aspires to follow the sunnah of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH) is part of the ummah of the sunnah of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH).
I uphold the position that Ismailies are part of the Ummah of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH) and that I think is something unequivocally factual based on the hadith of Syedna Muhammad (PBUH).
Sheikh Abd Al-manem (Sunni Cleric): They don't take the Quran as it is, they don't abide by the practices shown by the Quran.
