The Cevahir Mall in the Şişli district of the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul is the second largest shopping center in Europe.
Cevahir Alışveriş ve Eğlence Merkezi is located in the eastern part of the European part of the city in the 19 Mayıs district of Şişli, has an area of 420,000 square meters and is therefore a mega mall. Easily accessible via the nearby O-1 city highway, the mall is visited by almost 200,000 people every day and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Cevahir Alışveriş Merkezi was opened on June 20, 2005 and includes 280 shops, 34 fast food restaurants and 14 other restaurants. The center has 13 cinemas, one of which is an IMAX 3D cinema. Most of the stores in the mall opened their first branches in Turkey there. Special features are the huge clock, which uses the surfaces of the central glass roof with a diameter of almost 40 meters to display the time, as well as a small indoor leisure park including its own roller coaster.
