Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the MORryde AllTrek Equalizer System on a 2020 Keystone Montana. Now here's what they're gonna look like installed and this is gonna be a great, pretty easy upgrade to install. It's gonna give you a lot better suspension because of the ability to have a little bit more travel and that just means a better towing experience overall. Now our previous equalizer here, you can see that it does have rubber and that's gonna allow this to kind of move up and down and have that cushion. These are pretty loose here, which is fine. It does have that movement and each about I'd say an inch and a half so you have some movement up and down and that's where putting it side by side, you can see the AllTrek is, not only it seems like it's a little bit taller, but that's because you have four inches of movement here because you have this rubber that's supporting that weight and as this moves up and down, it's gonna be nice and even, it's not gonna be sloppy, and you're gonna get more of that suspension travel, which allows your suspension to move a little bit more, giving you a better ride overall.
And that's gonna not only make for a smoother ride and kind of just be easier on your camper and its contents, but also that's gonna transmit all of that energy up to the pin box so it's really gonna cut down on that porpoising because the suspension can kind of settle out and take those bumps away from your connection point. Now this is bolt-on installation. In fact, you can reuse your old wet bolts. What I've found, you might wanna pick up a new wet bolt kit while you're here. That way you have all new components and new hardware in place.
It's not required to have a cross member kit as well. We are gonna be putting one on here. So yours may not look like this, but it is not required to get this installed. Not only are you gonna get more suspension travel, allowing the suspension to work better, but you also have 40% more rubber absorbing those shocks. It's also gonna be progressive, so as it kind of presses up, it's gonna fight against that and really settle out the suspension, so having a little bit more cushion and more travel just means that suspension can really do what it needs to do.
Now this does come as a quantity of two so it's gonna allow you to get your tandem axle set up with one kit, but if you do have a triple axle, you are gonna wanna pick up another kit. That way you can get all of your equalizers done. Now in our process, we are gonna be upgrading our wet bolt kit as well as our shackles here, so ours will look new here, but if you are keeping yours, you're gonna be using these, so just make sure you keep these handy. And to get these loose, as I mentioned before, just knock that nut loose on the backside. You're gonna wanna hold it in place with the 13/16 box end wrench here, and then on the backside you'll have an 11/16.
And these can get a little bit tricky. Sometimes you just need, you can use an impact to kind of knock 'em loose, but if you don't have an impact and you're just using hand tools, I recommend a dead blow. Just hold that on there and once you kind of get some impact on it, it should get that initial knocked, that at least hard part knocked down, and then you can go ahead and take the nuts off. We're gonna be taking 'em off here, here and here. Our wet bolts are still gonna stay in place, but let's get the nuts off first. (ratchet clicking) Now with the nuts off, we are gonna be taking off the wet bolts on the shackles first, leaving this top one for last. Now, if you are reusing your wet bolts, to get these out, you do need to put a little bit of impact with a hammer, so just hand tighten the nut on the backside, that way when hitting on that, it's not gonna mushroom that out and it's gonna keep your thread safe, and just with a hammer, just kind of give it a little impact and that should push it forward enough. (hammer banging) And something else too, the suspension's hanging so if you have your floor jack, you can raise the axle and sometimes that's gonna kind of take some of that stress off and help it move so I'm gonna get my floor jack and just kind of bump it and see if we can't get this alleviated, that way it'll slide out a lit
