We do a couple examples of star ID using the Star Finder including the definition of local hour angle of Aries, which is used to set up the sky for a given latitude template. The Star Finders are available at [ Ссылка ] which includes a copy of our book on the device. The 10 year almanac list of Greenwich Hour Angle of Aries used was from Pub 249, vol 1. which can be downloaded at [ Ссылка ]. The sample sky we used to test the device was from https:www.starpath.com/usno (which is just a shortcut to a USNO site).
I forgot to mention, but in practical use, it pays to have a small spring clamp to pin the template to the disk once you have set it up carefully, so you do not risk moving it a bit, as you see in this video. I actually had one clipped to the case, but forgot its valuable role and just removed it!
