President Biden delivered remarks from the East Room of the White House Thursday (2/24), regarding Russia's attack on Ukraine.
Mr. Biden called it a "brutal assault" that came as a "premeditated attack." He also announced a new, stronger round of economic sanctions from the U.S. and Western allies.
The president said the U.S. will impose sanctions on four of Russia's largest banks. That's in addition to two financial institutions the U.S. sanctioned earlier this week. He also said the U.S. and its allies will impose new export controls, blocking Russia's high-tech imports and hampering the country's military and tech capabilities.
