My kids love to make popcorn, like 2 bags per night. I don't know if microwave popcorn is harder on a microwave than regular food, but suddenly this week our microwave could no longer cook popcorn. It could reheat food, but if we tried to make popcorn it would make a really strange buzzing sound and not pop at all. In this video, I will show you how to fix the buzzing sound in your microwave by replacing the magnetron. The magnetron is the main part that produces the microwaves that heat food. I could have thrown the microwave away, but my microwave was a high end model that came with the house. So I figured I would show you inside a microwave and at the same time replace the magnetron yourself.

NOTE - There is a dangerous component inside a microwave that carries high voltage. To mitigate the risk, I purchased special insulated pliers to ensure the capacitor is fully discharged. I show you what to do in the video.
