I love it when concerts exceed my expectations. I'm not really fond of his Soul covers records so I would have skipped this tour/concert, BUT when I checked some setlists I saw that he also placed some gems from his first 3 albums (by far his best - actually all three are among my favourite albums of all time) in the setlist that aren't among his known ones like Killer or Crazy: Prayer For The Dying, The Beginning and State Of Grace. OMG O-o - I love these songs! In the end I got two of these three *yay*.
To me it felt that at first he felt a bit uncomfortable and kind of forced himself into the concert. With time he relaxed and did a lot of interaction (in German, too!) with the audience, for example he sat down next to a person in the 3rd row, chatted, hugged and gave high fives to people. During Crazy he even walked around in the rows so people could shake hands with him. A highlight was Kiss From A Rose: I don't really like the song, but he sang it so powerfully - and danced with a girl from the audience.
To my surprise I also really liked his renditions of some soul classics like Love TKO, Let's Stay Together or Knock On Wood.
