My GF, Mia, and I met almost a year and a half ago. We went on a couple of dates, but something felt off, so I asked if we could just stay friends. A couple of days later, she introduced me to this friend whom she'd been dating for a month and a half. I stepped back in shock, as one would, and tried to get her out of my life. However, she was persistent and kept texting me to go out.

After some time, Mia and I got close—like best friends close—and she expressed her feelings for me. I didn't feel the same and urged her to tell her partner, since I've been cheated on before and it pretty much sucks. Mia ended up ending that relationship, thinking now we can be together. However, I explained to her again that I didn't have any feelings for her in that way.

I started dating someone new. However, Mia would start to act like the jealous and possessive GF, which made the girl I was dating think there was something between us. A while after, things ended with the girl I was seeing for their own reasons, which made Mia think she had a shot again. The fact that her friends kept encouraging her to keep trying added fuel to her fire.

It got to a point where Mia's persistence and the pressure from her friends wore me down. I ended up getting into a relationship with her, even though I still didn't have feelings for her in that way. I recently told Mia that I felt forced into the relationship. It was a tough conversation, but I needed to be honest about how I felt.
