Tony Skatell’s heart stopped in the middle of traffic in Charleston, South Carolina after suddenly experiencing cardiac arrest. His wife Janie immediately waved her arms for help, and an emergency room nurse darted through traffic. Luckily several bystanders sprang into action and performed CPR on Tony. A fire truck who was helping a nearby accident quickly got to the scene with an AED, and Tony made a full recovery at the hospital.
Tony and Janie have been CPR advocates in Charleston for years and are passionate about sharing their story in the community, but their journey was just beginning. They recently encountered another life or death situation at Newark Airport after a man suffered a heart attack. They immediately took action and helped save his life!
