PM stands for Particulate Matter. It refers to an EPAs category of air pollution that is affecting millions of people on our planet. PM is regulated by the EPA based on size -- PM 2.5 is 2.5 micrometers and smaller; PM 10 is between 10 micrometers and 2.5 micrometers. This lesson is a primer to begin discussion of the EPA's standards on regulating the amount of Particulate Matter that humans inhale.
