Following an agreement made with the City of Hammond in late 2016, historic Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive no. 624 was successfully relocated from Hammond, Indiana. Plans call for it the FWRHS to administer its restoration at a private facility in northeast Indiana where it will eventually be on display at the planned Headwaters Junction attraction - and maybe even restored to operation.
