From Dr T Stevens, "Great video, if you don’t mind I’ll add to the bullock whip. Being a Aussie, I’ll share a bit if Australian history. The use of Bullocks years ago were preferred over the use of horses as they could pull very heavy loads such as, logs, wool, sugarcane, building supplies ect.., and were common in Australia. They were called Bullock teams and there would be sometimes around 40 Bullocks working at a time. Because there were many of them being used at a time, a long handled whip was used so the driver could throw out a crack towards the bullocks at the front, hence the need for a bullock whip. These days you only see bullock whips used for cracking, but they do have a history of being a working whip."
