Why should Christians support Israel? Because the modern evangelical Church is pro-Israel, some think maybe supporting Israel is a “right-wing” thing. But it has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with your Bible. Israel is a nation that God created supernaturally. He miraculously gave Abraham and Sarah a son, Isaac (Gen 17:19), who then had Jacob (Gen 25), who God renamed “Israel” (Gen. 32:28). And the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are the people with whom God made a covenant at Sinai (Exod.–Deut.), who became the nation of Israel. In the Bible, God refers to Israel as “my people” (Exod. 10:3; Lev. 26:12; Psalm 81:13, etc.) and “my firstborn son.” (Exod. 4:22) And Jesus Himself told us that salvation is from the Jews (John 4:22). So if you’re a Christian, then you’re a follower of a Jewish Messiah, who was born, raised, crucified, and resurrected as a Jewish man in the land of Israel. And guess where He’s going to return to and establish His New Jerusalem? (Rev. 21) That’s why Christians should support Israel.
