The Navy has rescued another 440 Tamil civilians who were injured by the LTTE attacks..
They were brought to Trincomalee in the Green Ocean ship with the intervention of the ICRC under the security provided by the Navy last morning. The Navy brought them ashore in small boats and provided them basic facilities. They were also provided food and drinks. The injured were given first aid on the shore and transported to the Trincomalee hospital. The Navy safely brought the civilians ashore in dinghies from the ship that was anchored at sea. Governor of the East Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickrema was making arrangements to look into the needs of these civilians who are rescued by the Navy and admitted to the Trincomalee hospital on a daily basis. He held a special discussion with the health authorities of the East and Trincomalee hospital today..
