Recipe for Maryland Shrimp Salad
Ingredients
1 pound of Seasoned Steamed Shrimp or Raw Frozen Shrimp (31 – 40 ct. bag).
1 ½ - 2 Stalks of Celery, diced small
¼ of a Red Onion, diced small
¼ to a 1/3 cup of Duke’s Mayo
1 ½ to 2 ½ teaspoons of Old Bay Seasoning (depends if shrimp is already steamed and seasoned or frozen. Remember you can always add more but can not take away.)
Instructions
Already Seasoned Steamed Shrimp - peel shrimp and devein if needed. Cut in half or thirds depending on size.
Frozen Raw Shrimp – thaw in a colander under running cold water. Bring a steam pot of water to a boil. Season shrimp with Old Bay Seasoning and put in steamer. Steam for 5-6 minutes. If you do not have a steamer, you can place shrimp in boiling water. Bring back to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Remove shrimp, place in a bowl and refrigerate for about two hours. Remove after 2 hours, peel, devein and cut shrimp in half or thirds depending on size.
Mix shrimp and all other ingredients together in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Eat this as is or serve on crusty or Italian bread with romaine lettuce. This is also great on croissants.
