Modern Healthcare named SMH the highest performing safety net hospital in U.S. for hip and knee replacements. But Sarasota Memorial Hospital doesn’t just top the quality charts for safety net hospitals. In Dec. 2016, the federal government listed SMH among the top three hospitals for hip/knee surgery in Florida and among the top 50 in the nation for having the lowest (best) readmission rates.
