Nikon 70-200mm af-s vr ed has a focusing clicking noise with vr ON or OFF so it is not the vr, the clicking happens most of the time when focus reaches the right spot, it is making a loud click noise when focusing is the same noise that the lens makes when it focuses from end to end but instead this lens is doing that in between , it does this more when the camera is with Focus tracking With Lock-on turned OFF so it changes focus points faster on af-c . this is with a nikon D7000. **** It is Normal******
Solution : you Have to Go into the Custom Seting Menu and go to (a) Autofocus Then go to (a3) Focus Tracking with lock on , and set it to AF 3 Normal wish is the factory setting . and it should not sound like that as much any more.
