Animal Assisted Therapy (or Pet Therapy) at Craig Hospital joins animal volunteers—and their people partners—with patients in order to achieve rehabilitation goals.
Beyond offering comfort, motivation and joy, Craig’s animal therapists are instrumental when they integrate into physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Andrew rehabilitated at Craig Hospital following his brain injury. He and his dog Senor are now volunteers in the pet therapy program, visiting and encouraging patients.
Craig's Animal Assisted Therapy program costs $35,000 each year to run. It is just small piece of Craig's donor-supported Therapeutic Recreation Program. Donate to T-Rec Programs like Pet Therapy today at craighospital.org/foundation/support-pet-therapy.
