NASA’s Perseverance rover, the most advanced astrobiology laboratory ever sent to another world has landed on Mars on Thursday. Perseverance is the fifth NASA rover to ever land on the Red Planet since 1997. This is its first stop on a search for traces of ancient microbial life on the planet. For more on the importance and significance of this, Stephen Grootes chats to Prof Lerothodi Leeuw, Astrophysicist and professor at the Physics and Astronomy department at the University of Western Cape.
