Hi Lov3's!
Happy Monday to you all, we truly hope you are having a great start to your week. Today's DIY recipe is inspired by @WholeElise who has an amazing channel and website that is very inspiring for novice Lotion makers such as myself. Her channel also provides a lot of amazing homemade all natural recipes that offers a welcomed change to store bought lotions that tend be always watered down, thin and overpriced.
Water Phase:
240 g distilled water
4 tblsp rolled oats
12 g glycerine
Oil Phase:
60 g Shea Butter
60 g Grapeseed Oil
24 g Emulsifying Wax
Cool Down Phase:
4 g Optiphen
4 g Vitamin E Oil
4 g Lavender Essential Oil (optional)
Instructions
Make your own oat milk by steeping 4 tblsp of rolled oats and allowing it to sit for 25 minutes
Strain oats and you will be left with the oat milk
Prepare water bath in a pot and bring to boil over low heat
Weigh water phase and oil phase in two separate heat resistant beakers and add both to water bath to allow the oils to melt while maintaining the water at the same temperature
Leave on heat for 30 minutes or until fully melted and then remove from heat and transfer both phases over to bigger bowl
Add oil phase first and then add water phase and begin pulsing with immersion blender
Blend lotion in 2 minute interval, allow to cool for 10 minutes and repeat until desired consistency is achieved
When lotion becomes thick and creamy and the bowl is warm to the touch it is now time to add the cool down phase
Mix all ingredients well to ensure even distribution and then pour into desired containers
This recipe allowed me to fill 1-8oz bottle and 2-3oz travel size bottles
To use, apply this creamy oat milk lotion to itchy, dry, cracked skin and enjoy all the wonderful benefits of oats
