The authorities in eastern China are looking into the cause of an explosion outside a kindergarten on Thursday that killed at least eight people and injured 65.
China's state-run People's Daily is calling the blast a "criminal act" and says a suspect has been identified, but it gave no details about the supposed suspect.
Some local reports have described the blast as a possible gas tank explosion... from the many food stalls near the school,... but the police have urged the public not to jump to conclusions.
The explosion occured at around 4:50 p.m. local time, around the time when kids would be leaving the kindergarten.
Most of the dead were parents waiting to pick up their children.
