The trial into the November 2015 attacks in Paris is finally underway for the 20 men accused in a series of coordinated attacks on the French city that spread fear across Europe and transformed France.
Several locations were targeted, including the Bataclan concert hall, leaving 130 people dead. Nine Islamic State group gunmen and suicide bombers struck within minutes of each other, marking the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II and among the worst terror attacks to hit the West.
Mike Armstrong reports on what happened on day one and when a verdict is expected.
