Featuring brand new tracks, previously unreleased tracks and fan favourites from the Assimilate Regenerate & The Human Affliction era remixed and re-produced!
Previous albums:
DAY ZERO: RISE OF THE HORDE (2020)
Paul Wardingham’s 5th solo album and 3rd story concept album, ‘Day Zero: Rise Of The Horde’, brings together his love of post-apocalyptic movies and winter, in this Mad Max meets Resident Evil inspired futuristic thrash metal thriller.
The first in a two album series, “DZ1” introduces us to an alternate reality earth set in a perpetual winter, with the vast majority of the population, infected with a rage virus. The few remaining survivors, habit the far northern regions of the planet. Regions too cold for the infected to survive, until now!
Only one man can save humanity from the rise of the horde…. and a new evil that has emerged from the whiteout. His name is….Wirehead!
ASSIMILATE REGENERATE (2011)
It’s been called “the best instrumental guitar album in years” by Christian Muenzner (Necrophagist and Obscura) and “the best guitar discovery of 2011” by Andy James, along with praise from guitar legends Dino Cazares (Fear Factory) and Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Conquering Dystopia).
Described as instrumental cyber metal, Wardingham’s style combines 7-string mechanical riffing, melodic choruses, industrial synths and otherworldly solos to create visions of a futuristic world.
THE HUMAN AFFLICTION (2015)
The Human Affliction is Paul Wardingham’s highly anticipated concept album released July 14th 2015. Featuring 11 tracks and incredible guest solos by Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) and Stephan Forte (Adagio)
“The Human Affliction is a continuation of the themes that inspired Assimilate Regenerate: The future, technology and it's effect on humanity. More than that, it's a soundtrack to a dystopian future. Set in a high-tech low-life world, where humanity is blissfully unaware of the dangers of technological progress and the rise of artificial intelligence.....until it's too late. The Human Affliction is my vision of this cyberpunk inspired landscape landscape and post- apocalyptic digital age where the listener can escape reality, amongst cyber metal grooves, cold atmospheric synths, futuristic electronica, emotional melodies and of course...hi-tech shred guitar solos!”
SPIRITUAL MACHINES (2016)
Following on from his critically acclaimed albums Assimilate Regenerate (2011) and The Human Affliction (2015), Spiritual Machines is the new cyberpunk-inspired instrumental guitar album by Paul Wardingham.
Complete with the melodic choruses, mechanical metal riffs and hi-tech futuristic shredding that Paul has become known for, Spiritual Machines is perhaps his most accessible work to date.
“I really wanted to get back to a style that I was doing a few years before writing Assimilate Regenerate. More focused on melody and riffs than on lots of guitar solos. Spiritual Machines is more metal, very song orientatedThere’s an energy to this album that’s very different to my previous works”
ELECTROMANCER (2018)
The master of futuristic metal shred, Paul Wardingham is back with his 4th completely self-produced instrumental cyber metal epic, Electromancer! A sequel to Paul's 2nd album, he returns to the world he created for The Human Affliction, 150 years in the future!
Inspired by his favourite sci-fi movies from the 80s and 90s, Wardingham pushes the boundaries of his pioneering instrumental style even further with Electromancer. Featuring a more retro-futuristic, synthwave influenced, electro-metal sound than on previous albums.
“Electromancer is a totally self-indulgent, cyberpunk movie inspired, synthesizer infused, retro-futuristic shred-fest, that brings together my favourite music genres: metal and electronic music, closer than ever before!”
Like Wardingham’s sophomore effort The Human Affliction, Electromancer is a concept album inspired by an original story set on Earth in the year 2217.
“The story follows “Electromancer” a cyborg anti-hero and his biomech protector called “MX-106” as they evade enemies and authorities to get to Mars with the “Cyber Drive”. The “Cyber Drive is a weapon that could be used to destroy life on either Earth or Mars, both of whom are on the verge of war. ”
