A key deadline in the Dayton peace process comes into effect Saturday night, when rival factions have to withdraw troops from land that will be handed over to their former enemies.
But there is concern about the future of Serb civilians in areas of Sarajevo which are due to be transferred to the Muslim-led government.
One of the most sensitive issues of the Dayton Peace deal for Bosnia is the transfer of Serb-held suburbs in Sarajevo to the Bosnian government.
On Saturday, the Serbs are to hand over control to IFOR forces in those suburbs in preparation for the final handover on March 19.
As members of an international police force start to patrol the suburbs, large numbers of Serbs are leaving.
They say they are not prepared to live under what they call \"Muslim rule\".
From Otes, a part of Ilidza suburb, people are pulling out in an organised fashion.

\"First group left on January,31. They went to Visegrad (a town in eastern Bosnia that will stay Serb-held) to see what the living conditions are like there for us all to move. The time expires very fast and we have to prepare conditions to move\"

The Serbs are taking everything they can load onto the back of trucks.

'About 70 per cent of people have already left and only some 10 per cent of furniture and other goods remain here in Ilidza while everything else was taken'

In an effort to try and assuage the fears of the Serbs, Serb police will continue to patrol the area with international police officers.
But that clearly isn't enough to persuade everyone to stay...some are even taking their dead with them - exhuming the bodies of relatives from their graves.
