In this video I explain how to check PCIe Speed of a GPU or an SSD and what the ideal PCIe speed for GPU and SSD should be.
Largely, the PCIe speed depends upon how many PCIe lanes are connected to a device and what the version of the PCIe standard on your PC is.
PCIe speed plays a major role in the overall performance of a device. For instance, if you install a GPU that needs 16 lanes on a slot that only has 4 lanes, it WILL NOT WORK.
Similarly, if you put a PCIe NVME SSD in a slot conforming to older PCIe version, then it's speed will DRASTICALLY decrease.
In this video I explain PCIe lanes and PCIe version and talk about how to check the both for your connected devices using a free utility called HWInfo.
