Several provinces in Canada announced new presumptive and confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, March 15, with Nova Scotia being the latest province to report its first three cases.
All 10 provinces are now dealing with cases of the novel coronavirus, with Ontario and B.C. seeing the highest numbers so far. The Northwest Territories, Yukon Territory, and Nunavut remain the only jurisdictions in Canada with no reported cases as of Sunday.
Quebec announced on Sunday it was asking non-essential businesses, such as cinemas and bars, to close in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.
Saskatchewan's chief medical officer of health meanwhile said it was not recommending the closure of schools at this time as the majority of cases were connected to travel.
Alberta became the latest province on Sunday to order the cancellation of classes for students up to Grade 12.
On Sunday, Canada's chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam reported there had been 313 confirmed or presumptive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
