0:00 Introduction
0:47 Stomach Cancer Patient's story
Back in 2018, I started having issues with piles, which led to non-stop bleeding. Despite trying out Ayurvedic and homeopathic remedies, nothing seemed to work, and I just kept feeling weaker. Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong until a colonoscopy revealed cancer. Hearing about radiation therapy and the possibility of surgery with a stoma was terrifying. That's when I met Dr. Praveen Kammar, who suggested doing more tests. Turns out, I had rectal cancer and another lump in my stomach. But Dr. Praveen had a different plan - a less invasive surgery without needing a stoma or radiation. Even though I was nervous, Dr. Praveen's confidence encouraged me to go through with it. Now, four years later, I'm thankful for Dr. Praveen's help, and I'm optimistic about the future.
3:37 Case Study
It's important to highlight that the patient had been experiencing symptoms of cancer for about a year. However, as we've discussed in previous videos, cancer symptoms can be subtle and easily overlooked. Initially, the patient noticed blood in their stool and was diagnosed with piles. Despite undergoing surgery for piles, the bleeding persisted, accompanied by stomach pain, leading to weakness. This was a clear warning sign that the patient didn't ignore. They underwent multiple diagnostic procedures, eventually revealing rectal and stomach cancer. With the right guidance, the patient received treatment and is now well and healthy four years later.
7:00 What did this case teach us?
It's crucial to emphasize that if your symptoms are consistently worsening over a period of two weeks without relief from treatment, it's a red flag. In such cases, wasting time is not an option. Seeking guidance from an expert becomes paramount. Just like in this instance, where the expert advised the patient to undergo a colonoscopy, leading to the timely diagnosis of rectal cancer.
