Birmingham the UK's 2nd Largest city is home to "Britain's Dirtiest Street"! The Handsworth area has been at the centre of a national media storm with one headline stating "Giant Rats Rule and Piles Of Rubbish Can Be Seen From Space!" I was seriously shocked at the poverty, deprivation and depression to be found. Lining every street there are piles of garbage, the smell in the air was overwhelming! Rampant poverty, Substance Abuse and Crime was clear to see at every turn, truly sad scenes especially for the people of Handsworth trying to go about normal life. At times during this video it felt like a nightmare... garbage everywhere, boarded up abandoned shops, overwhelming poverty, huge levels of substance abuse and crime rates through the roof! The Crime statistics for the Handsworth area are eye watering! holding some of the worst crime rates within the UK. Unfortunately the Handsworth area of Birmingham is also one of the 'poorest' areas of the United Kingdom with poverty, depression and deprivation a common sight... After a quick google search of Handsworth, Birmingham I was inundated with negative headlines about the 'Filth', 'Drug Use' and 'Violence' on the streets. What I Found on the streets of this major UK City was truly shocking and left me questioning, was it always like this in Handsworth? What happened to this area of Birmingham? In this video I head to the UK's 'Dirtiest' Street and find out!
