This attraction, he posited, governed the upright stance of all people on the Earth and the gravitational pull experienced by all heavy objects, causing them to fall towards the Earth. According to Brahmagupta, this gravitational force was a fundamental aspect of nature, much like water's intrinsic tendency to flow.

Brahmagupta's perspective on gravity was crystal clear: if any object attempted to move deeper into the Earth, it would inevitably succumb to the Earth's unwavering gravitational pull. The Earth, in his view, was the quintessential reference point for all things. Seeds, when cast in any direction, he noted, would consistently return to the Earth, defying any inclination to rise away from it.
