So in 2013, I cut a hole in the bed of my truck for a fuel pump access hatch. That video is what put me on the path to do more truck DIYs. So here we are in 2019, improving that design!

This is a 1995 XL 8ft bed with dual fuel tanks.
So in order to be directly over the pump (there is some slight variation truck to truck), I measured 10 inches from the inside of the back bed wall. Then I measured 26 inches over from the side of the bed just as it begins to curve up from the bed floor. Otherwise, just take a look under the bed and locate your pump. You can hammer a dent in the underside of the bed over the pump as a locator mark.
