💜 SOPE-ME is a mash-up of Suga and J-Hope names and this performance was their debut. Read more about the song below. 💜 Otsukaresama deshita is a Japanese term that means you've worked hard, you must be tired in a praising way. Like a thank you for your hard work now you should rest. If you work in Japan you will hear it all day long. It's a cultural thing and there are various ways to use it.
In 2015, BTS performed at a few venues in Japan. They got into the habit of thanking their Japanese crew with this phrase at appropriate moments and, at one point, J-Hope sort of came up with a little tune to go with the phrase. Suga liked it, so together they turned that little tune into a trot song with a complete set of lyrics. It's made as a gift for their Japanese fans.
