Got leaks? This Sea-Doo does! The OPAS hoses are dryrotted and leaking!
On a bunch of these machines made in the 2000s there was a system called OPAS, that was meant to give you a little more steering control at idle speeds.
In my opinion it didn't do a whole lot, and really complicated the steering and entire jetpump area on these skis.
It worked by running steering rods through rubber boots in the hull, and after years and years of heat from inside the hull, water and everything else, those rubber boots degrade and start leaking.
Removing OPAS eliminates the possibility of that leak, simplifies pump servicing and can offer performance improvement as well.
Well worth doing.
