Bill Tippin is based in the charming seaside town of Marblehead, Massachusetts, where he's been crafting guitars (as well as furniture and boats!) for over 30 years. His guitars are unique takes on traditional body sizes, built with a unique, old-worldly aesthetic. Bill describes his Bravado design as "a conservative jumbo with a completely different approach to bracing the top." Somewhat shallower than many other jumbos, it still possesses the power and bass presence of a large-bodied guitar. With a slightly longer scale of 25.7", it's well-suited to a variety of playing styles, pivoting from fingerstyle to flatpicking with ease. Its resonant bass is strong but not overpowering, perfectly filling out the lower lines of a chord/melody arrangement while the clean highs sing over top.
