Hello,I will discuss all about the Slash or Oblique (" / ")
1) It shouldn’t be used in the formal writings.
2) It sometimes serves as shorthand for
(per).
For Example: Kilometer / hour
3) Some time it is used for ‘and’.
For Example: Asad is a doctor/ politician.
4) It is also used for ‘Or’.
For Example: Married / Single
5) It is also used with some abbreviations.
For example: Son of= S/o
6) It is also used For fraction.
For Example: 4 / 2
Date = 01/12/2020
Internet address = [ Ссылка ]. .
7) It is also used for Latin preposition (cum), Which means “combined with”, ” along with being”.
For Example: He is an actor cum writer cum director.
He is an actor / writer / director.
8)A slash can show a line break in a poem, song, or play, usually if several short lines are being written together on one long line.
For Example: Mary had a little lamb/ little lamb, little lamb/ Mary had a little lamb/ whose fleece was white as snow.
9) The sentence ending with a punctuation mark , that punctuation mark should be added with ellipses.
For example: Today , after hours of careful thought, we voted the Bill,.
Today..., we voted the bill.
10) Spaces before slashes should be avoided.
