Go West is a song by the American disco group Village People. Released in 1979 as the second single from the album Go West. It was successful in the disco scene during the late 1970s. Village People is an American disco group named after Greenwich Village, a large entertainment district for gays in New York where the group members often visited. They also had further hits with their songs Y.M.C.A., In The Navy, Macho Man… “Go West” found further success when it was covered in 1993 by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. The dynamic arrangement was written by Frank Bernaerts.
