Hello all!
For this weeks transcription I’m sharing this classic solo from one of the grooviest jazz pianists of all time. Wynton Kelly’s Freddie the Freeloader solo from the legendary Kind of Blue Miles Davis album is, in my humble opinion, one that every jazz pianist should check out. Great lines and a fabulous time feel that was uniquely his own. Freddie the Freeloader has a great amount of jazz education built into it. 4 incredible solo’s (and a bass solo as well.. sorry Paul…) that all have a unique character. Of course the drum and bass groove holding it all together is also impeccable. Hope you enjoy this and it inspires you to check out this album and others from that productive Miles Davis Quintet. :)
This video is for educational purposes only. I do not own the rights to this song.
I will try to post a transcription every week for the next couple months so if you are enjoying these, please subscribe to my YouTube channel. :)
