On the western coast of Finland, people have a relaxed attitude about atomic energy. Two reactors have already been built on the island of Olkiluoto, and a third is under construction. Lured by the benefits of huge investment programs, the local authorities in Eurajoki have even offered to let their borough serve as a final resting place for nuclear waste. There are a few nuclear activists in Eurajoki, but not enough to make a difference. The first excavations are already underway, and by 2020,the first nuclear waste will begin to flow into a facility 400 meters beneath the surface.
